Hi there!

I’m Lauren, the founder of CARE Counseling, Inc.

It's nice to “meet” you! At this stage of my career, I primarily engage in working with clients who have been on a long counseling journey and haven’t always gotten what they need, clients with extensive trauma histories or complex cases, counseling other therapists, consultation, clinical supervision, research projects, graduate-level teaching, or public speaking. As the co-founder of the Neuroscience Integration Lab at Northwestern University, I incorporate principles of neuroscience into my professional work with trauma survivors.

Here are the modalities I utilize: Internal Family Systems. Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Brainspotting (memory reprocessing), Feminist and Multicultural Frameworks, NeuroAffective Touch Therapy, Existential Therapy, Neuroeducation, & Relational Therapy.
